Youth & Family Services receives donation from local insurance agents

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Youth & Family Services receiving some help from a “good neighbor” on Tuesday.

Local State Farm Insurance agents awarded YFS $5,000 from the State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship Program.

For years local agents have supported YFS through personal donations and as volunteers, but this is the first time State Farm has supported YFS with a corporate grant.

The money comes after a recommendation for Rapid City agent Scott Carlson.

He says grants such as this represent State Farm’s commitment to the communities in which it does busines:

“YFS touches so many aspects of our community and fills such a vital role and it’s just great that we can partner with them and help with their programs.” said Carlson.

Youth & Family Services plans on utilizing the grant to support its financial literacy program, offered through its case management services.
