The Rapid City RUSH Hockey Team delivered some of the stuffed animals that were tossed on the ice at the April 3rd RUSH game to the youth at Rural America Initiatives.
Fans donated over 1,000 stuffed animals during the long standing traditional of the Teddy Bear Toss.
Community partners like Black Hills Energy and the Moving Guys helped to make the delivery happen.
Today the youth at Rural American Initiatives got to pick out their favorite cuddly toy.
Bruce Long Fox, Exec. Dir. of Rural America Initiatives says, “I think it’s a really good symbol that it shows that the community cares, cares about the kids and the that friends they have.”
Valerie Persinger, VP of Business Development of RUSH Hockey, adds, “You know as we are walking by the classrooms back there, they are hugging the bears and everything, just nothing compares to that and we (the RUSH) are just so thankful to be a part of the opportunity to bring that joy, bring that happiness to this community.”
The rest of the stuffed animals will be distributed to CASA and Youth & Family Services this week.
