Your New Year’s Eve Forecast

Bundle up, because while the snow is mostly over, it's going to be cold!

*Dangerously cold temperatures are in the forecast for this evening…bundle up if you are going to celebrate New Year’s outside!*

The counties shaded in turquoise are under Wind Chill Advisories until tomorrow morning.

NEW YEAR’S EVE: Skies will be partly cloudy, but temperatures will be frigid, with lows around -5°, and wind chills near -20°. Frostbite can set in within minutes at those temperatures.

Very cold New Year’s Eve.

NEW YEAR’S DAY: Mostly sunny with lighter winds. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper teens. Wind chills near -10°.

TOMORROW NIGHT: Clear and cold. Overnight lows between 0° and 5°, with wind chills near -10°.

Warming up for the rest of the week.

WEDNESDAY AND BEYOND: We get a break from the bitter cold, as temperatures rise into the 30s on Wednesday and perhaps near 50° on Friday, all under partly cloudy skies. The only variable here is the snow cover…snow on the ground can keep our daytime highs on the lower side. It looks like another round of winter weather may hit the region next Monday.
