YMCA offering summer programs
The YMCA of Rapid City is getting geared up for summer and offering an array of programs.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The YMCA is bringing back Yoga in the Park and Zumba, which are free to the public and held at Wilson Park.
The kids summer sports camps are offered for a time span of 90 minutes to a few hours a day in one-week increments and touch on sports including volleyball, soccer, and basketball.
Summer sports camps for kids serve as a good intro to sports activities. There will also be Triathalon training.
Beckie Javinar, the YMCA Health & Wellness Director, says, “We were really just trying to help those families that can’t commit to an all day camp every week for the whole summer but really wanted to get their kids involved in the community and find something they may love – we are offering early drop off and late pick up for those folks including meals.”
The YMCA will also be a location for the summer meals program, which serves free meals to children under 18 and adults over 60. That will begin June 1st.
Breakfast will be served from 7:30am – 9:30am and lunch served from 11am – 1pm.
Meals will be also be offered at a reduced price for adults.
