YFS Kids Fair sees thousands after two year break

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The YFS Kids Fair brought family fun to thousands in Rapid City on April 2 and 3. The total number of attendees came out to 8,315, with about 4,000 each day Saturday and Sunday.

YFS Kids FairActivities ranged from bouncy castles to bracelet making, with something for every kid to enjoy. An area for infants and toddlers, as well as live performances by local kids, drew in parents looking for some family

The fair was cancelled for the past two years, but returned this year for its 25th year with an excited crowd.

“So far, we’ve been having a really good turnout,” says YFS Communications Coordinator Brianna Nelson. “We have more than 4000 attendees yesterday [Saturday]. So we are very pleased with that. Today [Sunday] is feeling very busy. So hopefully we’re having really good numbers today as well. But we’ve got a lot of kids and a lot of families here who are really enjoying themselves and having a great time.”

All proceeds from the event go to local YFS programs that assist with counseling, educational and recreational programming, and other services.
