Yankton inmate Randall Heffner placed on escape status

InmaterandallheffnerYANKTON, S.D. – Randall Heffner, 42, inmate of a minimum-security state prison, is now on escape status.

According to a press release from the South Dakota Department of Corrections, Heffner, 42, is a Native American male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 6-feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

He left his Yankton work release jobsite without permission overnight and hasn’t returned to the Yankton Community Work Center.

Heffner is currently serving possession of controlled substance and DWI third-offense sentences from Minnehaha County.
