Yankees trade Cooper Bowman to the Oakland A’s
NEW YORK, NY – The New York Yankees traded former Post 22 standout Cooper Bowman to the Oakland Athletics on Monday.
The Yankees sent Bowman, along with pitchers Ken Waldichuk, JP Sears and Luis Medina to Oakland for starting pitcher Frankie Montas and reliever Lou Trivino.
Bowman graduated from Rapid City Stevens High School.
He played college baseball for Iowa Western Community College for two years.
Then Bowman transferred to the University of Louisville.
The Yankees selected Bowman in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
This season, Bowman played 80 games for the Hudson Valley Renegades where he hit .217 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs.
