CHEYENNE, W.Y. — Wyoming authorities say a man wanted for killing three people in a Southern California cemetery has been arrested in Cheyenne.

On Thursday, February 27, a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper ran a registration check on a vehicle while on routine patrol. The registration returned with information showing the vehicle being connected to a murder.

Waiting until other units were close enough to assist him, the trooper conducted a traffic stop east of Cheyenne on Interstate 80. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

The driver was identified as Jose Luis Torres Garcia, the suspect Riverside County Sheriff’s Office was looking for in connection with three murders in California.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has said Garcia acted alone and he knew the three victims. The three men were killed at the same time and found Feb. 17 at the Perris Valley Cemetery east of Los Angeles.
