WxChat – Forecast Discussion – 4/27/2022
Meteorologist Erik Dean breaks down the details of the remainder of the week, and forecasts about something he's watching that's a little long term, in Wednesday's WxChat
We’ve made it to Wednesday. Hope you enjoyed yesterday, it was gorgeous out there. I know I finally got around to washing my car as soon as I left work. Well, after I got a little bit of a nap in.
For the most part, we can just hit CTRL+C and CTRL+V as temps today, albeit a smidge cooler, is much like Tuesday.
THE NEWS: GOOD & BAD
Let’s start with the bad news first.
There’s your departure from normal in terms of precipitation for the year. Custer was above normal for a couple of days, but is now back in the red. We still need the precipitation across the area no matter how you slice and dice it.
SO WHAT’S THE GOOD NEWS?
The good news is wetter than normal conditions are on both the 6-10 Day, AND the 8-14 Day Outlook.
BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE!
If you look at the the 10 Day Precipitation Trend (This is not at all a forecast, it just shows us the current trends), it has us seeing a copious amount of moisture. This is something that we’ll be keeping an eye on over the next few days.
I am keeping this one short, sweet, and to the point. Coming up later on, we are talking about tornado safety.
I will be counseling on where to go in the event of a Tornado Warning, we’ll revisit the May 30, 1998 Tornado, as well as what you need to have in an essentials kit at all times, and if you have kids (being a father myself, this one hit home for me as of recent) how do you explain to them what a tornado is, and what is going on?
I assure you, this is an article you do not want to miss.
