Women’s Basketball: SD Mines falls to Northern State in home opener
RAPID CITY, S.D. – After an 0-2 start, the South Dakota Mines women’s basketball team returned to Goodell Gymnasium Thursday for its home opener.
The Lady Hardrockers hosted Northern State University from Aberdeen.
It was the first match-up between these two teams since 2014.
The game was close for three quarters.
But then the Wolves pulled away in the fourth quarter and beat the Hardrockers, 76-67.
Piper Bauer led SD Mines with 15 points, while Makenna Bodette added 14 points.
Ryan Weiss, who’s coming back from a knee injury, played 19 minutes and finished with 11 points.
The Hardrockers fall to 0-3 on the season.
South Dakota Mines heads to Montana to play, MSU-Billings on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.
