Wildland Fire to burn ditches south of Dewey on Tuesday

Prescribed Burn 2HOT SPRINGS, S.D. — South Dakota Wildland Fire will be burning grass in irrigation ditches around two miles south of Dewey.

Roughly 11 acres is expected to be burned Tuesday, with all activity – including burning and mop up – to be done on the same day.

The aim of the burn is to reduce ground fuels by 75%.

Crews will remain on scene until no more smoke is visible.
