Wildland fire burns near Long Creek

JACKSON COUNTY, S.D. — Interior Volunteer Fire Department, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Forestry & Wildland Fire Management – Pine Ridge Agency, are currently responding to a wildland fire, approximately 20 acres in size burning in heavy timber north of Wanblee in un-incorporated Jackson County, South Dakota.

There are currently no threats to structures or infrastructure.

Pennington County 911, Interior Volunteer Fire Department, local ranchers, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Forestry & Wildland Fire Management – Pine Ridge Agency are the responding agencies for the fire.
