Whiskey Festival celebrates third year in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Whiskey connoisseurs gathered at the Rushmore Hotel during the third annual Mountain West Whiskey Festival Saturday.

This year’s festival was kicked off by a performance from the Brandon Jones Band, followed by local band Flannel.

Attendees were able to ask industry experts questions about the beverages and find what best fits them.  Event member Andy Young said some of the drinks were “a little bit more rare and high end, stuff you wouldn’t sample on a regular evening.” Around 50 varieties of whiskey, bourbon and scotch were served at the event.
