Western Dakota Tech students eligible for assistance under CARES Act

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Eligible students at western dakota tech will be receiving federal assistance as part of the CARES Act Higher Emergency Relief Fund.

A check of $650 will be sent by mail this Friday to students who have experienced a disruption in their education due to the pandemic. Under the emergency aid program the school has identified 605 qualified candidates.

Approximately $40,000 will remain once checks have been cut and sent. The school will have one year to disseminate.

Classes for WDT will remain online until the fall, and then they’ll be returning to classes being held on campus.
