Western Dakota Tech hosts legislative cracker barrel

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The legislative session is still going on and residents of districts 30, and 32 through 35 came out to get answers to their questions.

Western Dakota Technical Institute saw a large turnout for another legislative cracker barrel this weekend. The forum is not scripted and allows for residents and citizens to express their concern over proposed bills with their state representatives.

Senator Jeff Partridge of district 34 said “This forum provides an opportunity for people to ask detailed questions and get real responses in real English of what this legislative purpose is for each of these bills.”

A few of the topics discussed were physical examinations in the school system and vaccination requirements for children.
