Western art showcased during Black Hills Stock Show

RAPID CITY, S.D. — During the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo visitors have a chance to view a fine selection of art at the Pro Health Western Art Show in the lobby of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

Showcasing the talents of regional western artists, the show has wide variety of artistic mediums on display — and it’s all for sale. Everything from paintings, photographs, pottery and jewelry is being offered, but the show also offers a unique opportunity for art connoisseurs.

“They actually get to come see the artist, they get to talk to the artist. How they did it, what’s their inspiration and …. Of course shopping at local galleries is wonderful too but this is an opportunity to see the artist themselves,” said artist Kathy Sigle.

On Friday the Pro Health Quick Draw takes place, where talented artist in the region have one hour to complete a western inspired piece of art.

Each artist will compete for the chance to auction off their work.
