West Dakota Improv to host Black Hills Comedy Festival

RAPID CITY, S.D. — West Dakota Improv will be putting on the 3rd Annual Black Hills Comedy Festival this January.

The festival showcases the region’s comedic talent through a multi-round competition, and awards a $400 grand prize to the top comic.

The festival is January 25-26th and begins at 7 p.m. on both nights. It will take place at the VFW Post 1273.

Additionally, West Dakota Improv will be hosting Spencer James at the Contraband Distillery on January 18th at 8 p.m. James has been featured on Laugh Factory, Laughs on FOX and is considered an icon in the stand-up comedy community.

In the meantime, the improve group puts on comedy sketch performances at the Contraband Distillery in downtown Rapid City every Friday at 8 p.m.
