WATCH: Trump addresses nation in Farewell Address
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump gave is farewell address on Tuesday, his final day in office.
“This week, we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous,” Trump said.
He gave his thanks to family, staff, military members, and law enforcement officers, but “most of all” to the American people.
“To serve as your president has been an honor beyond description,” he said.
Trump included what he considers his top accomplishments in office, such as passing tax cuts/reforms, ending “job-killing regulations,” fixing “broken trade deals,” withdrawing from “the horrible Trans-Pacific Partnership,” among others, saying he was “the only true outsider ever to win the presidency,” and said he ran because he wanted to “give something back.” He also condemned the political violence at the U.S. Capitol, saying that it can “never be tolerated.”
