Wall Fire Department veteran honored

WALL, S.D. — Pennington county commission proclaimed November 5 as Boyd Butch Kitterman Day.

Butch was recognized for his 63 years of service to the Wall Volunteer Fire Department. Recently, the Wall VFD named their fire station after him as a thank you for his service. Through his career, his family followed in his footsteps and now his son is chief of the Wall Volunteer Fire Department.

“Its a great honor…and I appreciate all the work everyone’s done for me,” said Butch.

Also during this morning meeting the commission took a moment to pay respects to all veterans who have served our country.

Butch does plan on finally retiring soon.
