Volleyball Playoffs: RC Stevens returning to state volleyball tournament

Raiders defeat the Scoopers in straight sets

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens has been one of the top-ranked volleyball teams all season long in Class ‘AA.’

After rolling through the regular season with a 30-1 record, the Raiders had a chance on Thursday night to qualify for the state volleyball tournament for the 19th year in a row.

The Raiders hosted Sturgis in the SoDak 16.

Despite a great effort by the Scoopers, Stevens defeated Sturgis in three sets by scores of 25-9, 25-11 and 25-14.

Stevens will now play Brookings in the opening round of the State AA Volleyball Tournament starting Nov. 15 in Sioux Falls.
