Veterans Classic: Hardhats roll over Miles City, Stars outlast SF West

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Veterans Baseball Classic wrapped up Sunday in Rapid City.

Post 22 squared off against Miles City in the final game of day.

Not only was it the Hardhats last home game this summer, but it also marked the last game played at Fitzgerald Stadium before construction begins this week on a five million dollar renovation project.

Post 22 scored six runs in the fourth inning and went on to beat the Outlaws, 12-6.

Bransen Kuehl, Ryan Bachman and Hunter Tillery each had two RBIs for the Hardhats.

Meanwhile, Dylan Richey was credited with the victory for Post 22. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out eight.

Post 22 improves to 28-9 on the season.

The Post 320 Stars used a four-run fourth inning to defeated Sioux Falls West, 5-2.

Mitch Sand led the Stars with two hits and two RBIs.

Plus, Gage Darrow pitched a complete game for the Stars giving up two runs on six hits while striking out three.

Post 320 is now 16-18 on the season.

The Stars will host the Sturgis Titans on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m.
