UPDATE: Stolen pickup rams Rapid City police car during pursuit

UPDATE: 3:11 p.m. — Police had identified the pickup as being stolen.

The pickup rammed a police car and then police lost sight of it as it drove through a yard. The pickup was called in as a vehicle complaint on Catron Boulevard a short time after.

Police located the vehicle abandoned in the area of Golden Eagle Drive.

A drone team was deployed to the area to help locate the suspect, but they were not located.

The incident remains under investigation.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Three local law enforcement agencies were seen surrounding a white pick-up truck on Vineyard Lane in Rapid City Wednesday night.

The Rapid City Police, Sheriff’s Deputies and Highway Patrol were all involved in a pursuit with a pick-up which ended up off the road in the area of Golden Eagle Drive and Vineyard Drive.

Authorities sent up drones to search the area around the wrecked truck.

At this time it is not known who or what the police were searching for or why the truck was being pursued.
