UPDATE: Further details released in fatal I-90 crash near Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. – More details have been released concerning the three men died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near Sturgis.

The names of the people involved are not yet being released pending notification of family members.

A 2016 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck and trailer was eastbound on Interstate 90 when it was rear-ended by a 2015 Maserati Ghibli.

All three occupants of the Maserati were pronounced dead at the scene. All three were wearing seat belts.

The two occupants of the semi-truck, the 77-year-old male driver and the 74-year-old female passenger, were not injured. The driver was wearing a seat belt and the passenger was not.

STURGIS, S.D. — Three people are confirmed dead Tuesday night by highway patrol after a crash on I-90 near Sturgis.

Spokesman Tony Mangan was not able to give much information as some families need to be notified.

What we do know is that a vehicle collided with a semi resulting in the three deaths.

Highway patrol will release more information Wednesday, and we will share that information with you on-air and online at newscenter1.tv.
