United Way, Journey Museum and Dahl Arts center host “Art Storm”

RAPID CITY, SD — As part of the Day of Caring, the United Way joined with the Journey Museum Thursday in hosting an “Art Storm” along with the Dahl Arts Center.

Artists were given a chance to paint murals of whatever struck them creatively.

Some artists chose outer space as their inspiration, while others chose Native American heritage.

All of them are driven by their passion for art, saying projects like these mean something different for everyone.

“Everybody that is involved in this is gonna reach somebody in some way, and how that works for them in their lives its just cool to imagine the possibilities and the ways.” said muralist Derek “Focus” Smith.

The murals are expected to be complete by Friday afternoon.
