Uber coming to Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Uber will soon be coming to Rapid City.

On Monday the City announced that its Finance Office issued a license to allow Uber ride-sharing services to operate in town.

Raiser LLC, the San Francisco-based transportation network company that contracts with Uber, applied for the license in May. The company had to provide proof of registration with the State of South Dakota, its annual report, a list of owners/board members and pay the City’s $1500 license application fee. The Rapid City Police Department also reviewed the application.

The license became effective on June 7.

Uber joins Lyft as the two ride-sharing services in the community.
