Two Special Olympics Tournaments this weekend

RAPID CITY, S.D. -Two Special Olympic state tournaments will be held in Rapid City this weekend.

The bocce ball tournament started on Friday and softball begins Saturday. This is the fourth year for bocce ball and the 37th annual softball tournament.

While everyone wants to win the championship trophy, at the end of the day it’s all about competing and having fun.

One participant, Scott McGee says his favorite part of the weekend is softball.

“Everybody likes to do it. It’s a really fun sport and I like making home runs,” said McGee.

The Special Olympics tournaments will be held at Star of the West fields in Rapid City all weekend.
