Two men sentenced for 2017 robbery of Spearfish store

The Phillips 66 Speedy Mart was robbed in November 2017

Two men have been sentenced for the 2017 armed robbery of a store in Spearfish.

David Jackson Jr., 25, of Sturgis, South Dakota, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, three years of supervised release and will pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

Adam Peters, 22, of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, five years of supervised release and will pay $200 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund as well.

Both men pleaded guilty to robbing the Phillips 66 Speedy Mart in Spearfish at gunpoint in Nov. 2017. Peters also pleaded guilty to Interference with Commerce.

The men were arrested as part of a law enforcement program called ‘Project Safe Neighborhoods’ that aims to make neighborhoods safer by reducing violent crimes. The program is a partnership with federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies.
