Treat mom to something special this Mother’s Day

Deadwood History Inc. offers free museum tours for moms at the Adams Museum, the Days of ’76 Museum, and the Historic Adams House. Rose Speirs, Communications Director for Deadwood History Inc. shares the unique features of each museum.

The 1880 Train is opening this weekend and offers a Mother’s Day gift pack for mom.  The train will depart from Hill City at 11:30 a.m. and Keystone at 12:45 p.m. Seats are $34 for adults, $17 for children ages 3-12, and ages three and under are free.  The Mother’s Day gift pack is an additional $27.95.

Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City is offering Sip N’ Plant with Uprooted at 2 p.m. in the Tasting Room. Participants will build a terrarium. Tickets are $50 and include planting supplies, instruction, and two glasses of wine.

Reptile Gardens is offering free admission for all moms this Mother’s Day with a donation of two cans of food. They are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $14 for seniors, $13 for military and their spouses, $12 for youth ages 11-15, $10 for children ages 4-10, and children three and under are free.

Black Hills Community Theatre in Rapid City is performing “33 Variations, A Drama in the Studio Theater” a tale about how we seek meaning in our lives and find it in our relationships. The show is from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $26 for adults, $24 for seniors and military, and $16 for students.

Pottery 2 Paint in Rapid City will be open Mother’s Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Moms get their studio fees for free and the first 20 moms will receive a treat bag.

Custer State Park offers free entrance and fishing on Mother’s Day. The Game Lodge will serve its Mother’s Day Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations at all three dining rooms is highly recommended and can be made by calling the State Game Lodge Dining Room 605-255-4541, the Sylvan Lake Lodge Dining Room 605-574-2561, and the Blue Bell Lodge Dining Room 605-255-4531.

Homestake Opera House will hold the performance of “See How They Run” an English comedy farce of mistaken identities, doors and vicars, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, students, military and members.

Spearfish Canyon Lodge will host its annual Mother’s Day Brunch at the Latchstring Restaurant from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $25.95 for adults, $22.95 for seniors and $11.95 for children. Reservations can be made at 605-584-3333

The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs is offering free admission with three cans of food. Donations will benefit the Hot Springs Food Pantry. The site is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
