Important US history was made in Fort Worth Texas.

Never before had two women inked their names on U.S. currency.

And that glass ceiling moment was shattered when Treasury Secretary Janet Yellin and U.S. Treasurer Lynn Malerba penned their signatures on the first U.S. Bills to feature two women’s names on them.

Malerba also made history becoming the first Native American to have her signature appear on U.S. Currency.

The unveiling of the new bills happened at the Bureau of Engraving and printing facility in Fort Worth.

The women’s names will appear first on dollar and five dollar bills.

The newly printed bills will be delivered to the Federal Reserve this month and should begin to make their appearance early next year.
