RAPID CITY, S.D. — Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction near the St. Patrick Street and St. Joseph Street intersection beginning Wednesday.

City utility maintenance crews will be assessing leaks to a water line in the same area that was impacted by a water line break last Thanksgiving.

The traffic restriction will begin at approximately 10 a.m. Wednesday and will affect the area just east of the St. Patrick Street railroad tracks and west to businesses on St. Patrick Street, including Corner Pantry and the Blue Lantern Lounge.

Officials believe the water line issue is due to the winter weather conditions we’ve been experiencing for the past week or so.

Water service will not be disrupted at the present time and officials expect any repairs to be short in duration.  The traffic restriction will be in place for a few days to allow the concrete patch to cure.
