Tornado touches down in Bennett County

UPDATE: The tornado’s rotation is generally weakening, but large hail is now the main concern, particularly for areas pictured below in pink and red.

Additionally, a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued to areas including Hisle, S.D. until 4:30 p.m. with quarter sized hail possible and up to 60 mph winds.

BENNETT COUNTY, S.D. — A tornado warning has been issued in Bennett County.

The tornado was seen roughly three miles southwest of Allen.

It is relatively stationary. Large hail is also possible.

Residents in the area should take precautions to protect themselves. The tornado warning is in effect until 4 p.m. and includes Martin and Allen, S.D.
