Top cowboys and cowgirls set to converge on the Black Hills: Check out the schedule for Rodeo Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. – Thousands of rodeo fans will gather at the Summit Arena on Friday for the start of the 46th Annual Rodeo Rapid City.
Final preparations are currently underway at the Summit Arena for the four-time PRCA Indoor Rodeo of the Year.
This year, over 500 cowboys and cowgirls from around the country, will be competing for their share of over $200,000 in prize money.
The contestant list includes both current and former world champions, along with some of the top athletes in the Badlands Circuit.
“Like I said before, you can’t not come to Rapid City if you want to have your name at the top of the list at the end of the year,” said Brent Sutton with Rodeo Rapid City. “So you’ll see some of the top cowboys in the world from last year or the ones that are already in the standings this year. This is a limited rodeo so it doesn’t let just everybody in too.”
