Tickets available for 5th annual Gallantly Forward Gala

Support veterans and raise awareness about the realities of PTSD.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – About 20 veterans on average die by suicide every day, and only about six reach out for VA healthcare benefits.

This Saturday night, the Sgt. Colton Levi Derr Foundation is hosting their 5th annual Gallantly Forward Gala to combat those statistics. It supports veterans and helps raise awareness about the realities of PTSD and other issues they face.

Haley Derr, founder and president of the foundation, wants to let vets know, “There’s people out there that care about you, whether that’s us or another veteran organization. There’s other resources out there outside the VA.”

The gala starts at 5 p.m. at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center’s Lacroix Hall. It features live music by “The Starfellows,” dinner, guest speakers, and a silent and live auction. Tickets are $35, and you can buy tickets for veterans if you can’t attend. The proceeds go right back to helping veterans. Call 605-545-2505 or click here.

In addition to advocating for veterans and promoting awareness, the foundation also helps provide financial assistance for veterans.
