Three people arrested following pursuit of stolen vehicle
RAPID CITY, S.D. — A pursuit involving the Rapid City Police Department ended in three people being arrested and a stolen vehicle being recovered.
On Saturday, October 24, officers of the Rapid City Police Department were in the traveling in the area of E. Denver Street and N. Lacrosse Street when they noticed a Jeep Cherokee that had a non-illuminated license plate.
The officers attempted a traffic stop on the Jeep, but it accelerated away from the officer, at which point the pursuit was terminated due to poor road conditions. The officers still kept within sight of the vehicle (which was later identified as stolen), which turned into the parking lot near 903 E. North Street and turned onto E. North Street.
The officers lost sight of the vehicle in the 1400 block of Cambell Street, but an officer looked through the area and found the vehicle backed up near a shed in the 1300 block of Creek Drive. As the officer approached the vehicle, it accelerated forward and hit the officers vehicle before leaving the area.
Later, a Pennington County Sheriff’s Deputy found the unoccupied vehicle near E. Chicago Street and Cherry Avenue. Foot prints from the scene led officers to a residence located at 815 E. New York Street.
After setting up a perimeter, officers received permission from the primary resident to enter. As the officers were calling out the other residents of the residence, a male and female attempted to flee out a back door but were detained.
The male was identified as 22-year-old Anthony Keeble of Rapid City and the female was identified as 23-year-old Sabrina Drab of Rapid City.
Keeble was placed under arrest for aggravated eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, accident hit and run, impersonation to deceive law enforcement and a warrant. Drab was placed under arrest for two warrants.
While police were clearing the residence, they found 33-year-old Stacey Kluthe of Spearfish who was hiding under inside a cupboard under a sink. Kluthe was place under arrest for an existing warrant. All three were transported to the hospital.
