Third water rescue in progress as Box Elder resident needs assistance getting out of flooded home

BOX ELDER, S.D. — Two residents and a pet have been rescued from the home. According to reports from the scene the residents of the home had been in communication with officials throughout the morning.

The Box Elder Fire and Police departments are responded to a call from a resident who is trapped in their flooded home at the intersection of Line and Aspen Rd.

A rescue team from the Rapid City Fire Department has assisted the rescue, working alongside Pennington County Search and Rescue and both local agencies.

Flooding has been a major issue over the last few days with two water-related rescues being performed yesterday. Read More on recent flood rescues in the area.
