Journey through space with our traveling inflatable planetarium – the GeoDome – at the YFS Kids Fair at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center from March 22-24.

This will be an interactive exploration of space thanks to NASA-supported software.

Our program instructors offer fun presentations on the planets and moons in our solar system, satellites, the Milky Way galaxy, and more. This is a definite don’t-miss opportunity!

Take a peek into a world of wonder in a Discovery Expedition class. Our Journey educators create wonderfully playful and interactive learning experiences for people of all ages to enjoy.

This weekend, be like the pioneers and build sod houses. But you’ll be doing it with Legos!

This event will run again Sunday, March 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Students are invited to learn about mountain lions, one of the most popular species within the big cat family. With the help of the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Cougar Crate, students will discover where mountain lions live, what they eat, and why they are an important part of the environment. Students will also learn how humans moving into mountain lion territory can affect their population and what to do if they encounter a mountain lion in the wild. Light refreshments will be provided. For students in grades K-6. Adams Museum; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; $6 for members and $11 for non-members. Scholarships are available. Reservations required. Be part of an exciting and unique experience to discover your inner artist. This camp will focus on elements of art: color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. Campers will learn a variety of ways by which they can create original works of art, get inspiration from real life artists, and become familiar with several different styles of art. Discover the wildlife of the Black Hills and learn about the habitats, environments, and ecosystems of animals that call the Black Hills home. Students will also learn about animals native to the Black Hills and some that were introduced to the area. Camp starts and concludes at the Days of ’76 Museum.
