Tiny Goblins and Ghouls Invade Downtown @ Main Street Square
Oct 26 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Celebrate Halloween in Downtown Rapid City at Main Street Square during Scare in the Square, co-sponsored by Vitalant and A&W All American Food, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. Scare in the Square is held in conjunction with the Downtown Rapid City Business Group’s Downtown Trick-or-Treat.

Scare in the Square will feature tons of ghostly family fun on Sixth St., including the Regional Health and Scull Construction Kidz Zone and a photo opportunity with the giant pumpkin or black cat.

Visit participating businesses for candy and other treats during the Downtown Rapid City Business Group’s ninth annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 1 to 3 p.m.

Participating Downtown businesses will be identified with a Downtown Trick-or-Treat participant flier in their store windows. A list of participating businesses will also be available online at Mainstreetsquarerc.com.

Both events are free to attend. Children and parents are encouraged to wear costumes, bring their own trick-or-treat bags, and meet at Main Street Square where they may pick up a map of participating Downtown businesses at the corner of Sixth and Main streets.

“It’s a great family-friendly event to kick off Halloween activities,” said Dan Senftner, President and CEO of Main Street Square. “Children love walking up and down the streets collecting candy in costume, while parents have the opportunity to explore a variety of shops in our vibrant downtown.”

Downtown motorists are asked to be aware of trick-or-treaters throughout the day. Crossing guards will be assisting with the Downtown Trick-or-Treat event, but attendees are asked to cross the streets with care.

For more information on Downtown Trick-or-Treat and Scare in the Square, visit DowntownRapidCity.comMainStreetSquareRC.com, call 605.716.7979, e-mail info@mainstreetsquarerc.com, or stop by the Destination Rapid City and Main Street Square office at 512 Main St., Ste. 980.

Tantric Bio:
Louisville-based post grunge rock group Tantric have defined themselves through 6 studio albums as a groove laden, guitar rich rock band with dense vocal harmonies and infectious vocal melodies. Frontman Hugo Ferreira’s unique soulful baritone vocals, ranging from angsty rasps to melodious melancholy are a testament for the signature Tantric sound. Along with the usual intricate guitar work and infectious riffs layered over complex textures has become the hallmark of the Tantric sound. Tantric has endured for a career of 15 years, and although band has gone through many label and lineup changes over the years, Ferreira has managed to keep the entity that is Tantric alive and well. “I consider Tantric a boat that I float in—it’s a vessel that carries the music. So I never feel restrictions. It doesn’t have any rules. Tantric music can be super-heavy, light–or both It’s really an open book with no ending in sight”, says Ferreira.
