Thieves use vehicle in burglary of Rapid City business Monday morning

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Police responded to a burglary call shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday morning at a business in the 1900 block of North Maple Avenue.

A Dodge Ram 1500 pickup crashed into the front of 1903 N. Maple Ave. in Rapid City and was still inside when police arrived.

Store owners confirmed to the RCPD that items had been stolen from the property.

RCPD is investigating the incident and ask anyone with tips to contact Det. Brendan Lenard at (605) 394-4134. Anonymous tips can be submitted by texting “RCPD” to 847-411.

Police say this is the second time in a week a vehicle crashed into a local business.
