There is still time to book a hotel in Rapid City for the rally

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Guests from all over the country are already coming in for the Sturgis Rally. Sturgis and the surrounding cities are expected to house hundreds of thousands of people through the 10-days. Although many hotels are completely booked, there are still a few vacancies in Rapid City.

“We’ve done a quick survey of about 10 hotels in Rapid City and everybody is about 85 percent full especially the first full weekend,” said Visit Rapid City CEO, Julie Jensen.

Most of the hotels with available rooms are between $179 and $250 a night. Most of them have added perks for those who book with them.

“Many will have special breakfasts, hamburger feeds, or some special events for different groups of bikers that stay with them. I know some actually have a great way of transporting people to Sturgis and getting them back down here so that there isn’t any problem with drinking and driving,” said Jensen.

A few hotels will have parking benefits as well. Visit Rapid City wants the public to know that due to the influx of motorists, part of downtown Rapid City will be closed off for motorcycle parking.

Those who are interested in last-minute bookings can call Visit Rapid City at 1-800-487-3223 or 605-708-8484. They can assist in finding available rooms along with pricing.
