The Sturgis Tree Lighting and Parade of Lights is back!

The annual Sturgis Tree Lighting will be back in town this weekend, courtesy of the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce.  The festival begins Thursday night with a Christmas tree lighting, and ends with the Parade of Lights on Friday evening. Christmas carols and hot cocoa will also set the mood for those still recovering from Thanksgiving. The event is a community favorite, and is sure to lighten even the tiniest of Grinch hearts.

For those attending the Christmas tree lighting on Thursday evening, there will likely be patchy freezing fog. So there will be areas of low visibility and slick roads when driving. Fortunately winds will be light between 5 and 10 mph. Travel should not be impacted, but be sure to travel safely and take into account the time it takes to get to Sturgis, especially for those taking the interstate. Friday will be very much the same, just without the patchy freezing fog. Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm!
