The Sturgis Community Center will not be open to the public for this year’s Rally

STURGIS, S.D. — The Sturgis Community Center will not be open to the public for this year’s Rally.

The Community Center will provide parking for bikes outside, but will not be hosting vendors inside the gymnasium like in years past.

Only members will have access inside, but there will be no 24/7 access over the Rally.

The pool is closed due to the pandemic, which eliminates the shower service that’s usually offered to bikers in the locker room.

Daniel Ainslie, Sturgis city manager said “That’s really just due to CDC guidelines. That given what the usages of the showers that we used to allow people to buy a shower pass so that they can come in. There’s really no way for us to continually clean them, in the way that the CDC recommends. And so we determined it was the safest then to not have those open this year.”

Sturgis High School will also not offer shower services, and will not be hosting the annual pancake breakfast.
