The Cosmopolitan Club and Diabetes Inc. set out to fight diabetes

The Cosmopolitan Club

The Cosmopolitan Club started in Rapid City in 1929, and it is an organization that has set out to fight diabetes, and they have given over $7 million for research for diabetes internationally. At the local level, they raise funds for Diabetes Inc. and other organizations and they gave $40,000 in 2022 alone.

The club raises funds through fundraisers, with their major fundraiser being the Sportsman’s Show that takes place every February.

Other events they’ll work with include:

  • Summer Nights by checking IDs.
  • Usher events at The Monument like hockey, scan theater and concert tickets, and the Stock Show.

For some members of the organization, it is important to be a part of it because diabetes is one of the biggest concerns they have, with over 38 million Americans having diabetes and 93 million are pre-diabetic.

The club meets every Monday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thirsty’s.
