The Academy of Model Aeronautics is providing an instructional video for a Thanksgiving themed paper airplane
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Turkeys can’t fly. Still, a model plane organization is offering videos on it’s website to help kids build their own flying turkey with a special Thanksgiving plane.
The Academy of Model Aeronautics is introducing its ‘Gobbler Gliders’ so families can put them together over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The model can come with a turkey design already drawn onto it, or you can print off a blank canvas to create your own ‘Gobbler Glider’ at home.
But don’t let the turkey design fool you – these model planes can fly very well.
“The nice thing about these projects – and really most of the quick projects – is that they use things you already have in the house. You know you might need some glue, some tape, some scissors, of course some paper – and use of some of the imagination as well. With those elements – that are very basic – you can have a lot of fun,” said Kyle Jaracz, Education Director for the AMA.
Instructional videos to put together the ‘Gobble Glider’ and many more DIY projects can be found on the official academy website here.
