Thanksgiving tip ends in Black Hawk woman’s arrest

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Police have detailed a convenience store arrest from Thanksgiving Day.

Someone had reported a woman who appeared to be injecting herself with drugs in a store parking lot on East Saint Patrick Street. And lying unconscious in the driver’s seat of a running car was 31-year-old Carrissia Anderson of Black Hawk. Police woke her up and found that she had a warrant and that she was too impaired to drive.

After searching Anderson’s car, police found syringes and pills, described as “various forms of controlled substances.”

Police hauled the woman to jail but would later find white powder in the patrol car where the suspect had been sitting. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

With everything accounted for, police charged Anderson with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence.
