Terry Peak preps for the upcoming season
LEAD, S.D. — The early snow may have you thinking about hitting the ski slopes, but you’ll have to wait just a bit longer.
The folks at Terry Peak are quite excited about the two feet of snow that fell there this week saying it will go a long way to help with upcoming season, even if most of it melts.
Terry Peak Marketing Director Linda Derosier says the runoff will help fill the water table, and whatever is left will give their snow making system a head start.
Right now, Terry Peak is focused on season pass sales, that are at a discounted price through October.
Derosier says the staff will start getting the resort ready for skiers in the next couple weeks.
“We hope to start making our snow in a couple of weeks,” Derosier said. “We usually like to begin that about November 1. So, once we can get the snow machines going and we can start packing our mountain it’s just a matter of time.”
Terry Peak’s season starts officially on December 1, but that could change. So it’s best to check their website or follow them on Facebook for updates.
Terry Peak will also be looking for some new hires during it’s job fair on November 13.
