Terry Peak opens for first full weekend of the season

LEAD, S.D. — Terry Peak officially opened last Wednesday after delaying the opening for about a week due to the unseasonably warm weather.

The Stewart, Snowstorm and Surprise slopes are open, lifts are operating at Stewart and Surprise, and the snow carpet at the base of the mountain is open.

Terry Peak officials say they will open more attractions when the weather is more cooperative.

“We’re hoping that we’ll be able to open the other side of the mountain as soon as we get some cold weather. We’ve been working on Kussy and Ben Hur as much as we can when the temperatures allow.” said Terry Peak Marketing Director Linda Derosier, “We just need a few more cold nights to get more snow on those slopes so we can get those open.”

Visitors to Terry Peak are asked to observe social distancing guidelines by wearing a mask in the buildings and whenever social distancing is not possible.
