Temporary lane closures coming to Haines Avenue

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Transportation has announced temporary lane closures at the intersection of Haines Avenue and Mall Drive.

Beginning on January 18 and going through January 21, crews will be installing temporary traffic signals. There will be a single lane closure in the north- and south-bound lanes of Haines Avenue.

The installation is being done to prepare for traffic detours that will be necessary during the widening of the I-90 Maple Street bridges and reconstruction of the LaCrosse Street and I-90 interchange at Exit 59.

Motorists are advised to be aware of workers and equipment adjacent to driving lanes, as well as to be prepared for suddenly slowing or merging traffic.

The $17-million-dollar project is being handled by Complete Contracting of Rapid City. Additional details on the I-90 project are available online here.
