T & K Hunting Gear aims to provide jobs in the Rapid City community

A veteran owned hunting company in Rapid City is making it their mission to support the local economy and value American made products.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Tyler Kath, along with his father, are the owners of T & K Hunting Gear. All materials are made in the USA. Products are hand cut and hand sewn. All the gear is hand crafted in house, at their business in Rapid City.

Tyler Kath, Owner, T & K Hunting Gear, says, “We take a little more pride when we are making our stuff because we know it’s going to customers that live right in our community.”

Tyler was born and raised in Rapid City. After 9/11, he felt the calling to serve. He joined the Marine Corp. after high school and did two deployments to Afghanistan.

Kath says, “I felt like it was my duty to serve, serve my country, so that was the big motivation factor.”

He then worked in law enforcement and got the idea to start his own company. A self taught sewer, he began crafting hunting gear to outfit other hunters. Hunting has been a passion of his since he was young.

T & K Hunting was established in 2018 with a goal to create jobs in our community.

Kath says, “I think creating jobs in America is extremely important for our economy, for our people. For me a huge factor was creating jobs, not only in my country, but within my community.”

Their gear is used by hunters worldwide and in all 50 states.

“It gives my enjoyment, you know, paying a livable wage and creating jobs within our community and providing other hunters that share that same patriotic type passion as me of supporting made in the USA and supporting our own economy, supporting jobs within our own country,” says Kath.
