Suspect identified in Quincy Street shooting
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Police were dispatched to 603 Quincy Street on November 18 around 4:35 p.m. for a report of a male who had been shot in the leg.
The female responsible for the shooting had left the apartment complex and began running south, according to the report.
Police officers located the male shooting victim on arrival, and emergency first aid was rendered until a medical unit could arrive. The male was transported to the hospital for the treatment of serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Police spoke to witnesses and obtained a description of the female suspect. A female matching the suspect description was located in a nearby alleyway just south of where the shooting took place.
Lisa Headley, 43, of Rapid City was transported to the RCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division to speak with detectives about the incident.
A handgun was recovered nearby in her path of travel from the apartment building, and it is determined that Headley had been in the apartment when she pointed the gun at two individuals inside the residence during an argument and shot one of them before fleeing the residence.
Headley was placed under arrest for aggravated assault and aggravated assault intimidation before being transported to the Pennington County Jail.
