Sturgis teen sentenced to 55-years in prison for Manslaughter
STURGIS, S.D. — A Sturgis teen has been sentenced to 55-years in prison for Manslaughter after pleading guilty for killing a Wyoming girl in his home.
Michael Campbell, 17, was charged as an adult and initially pleaded not guilty to first and second-degree murder by reason of insanity. In May, he pleaded guilty to first-degree Manslaughter after admitting to shooting Shayna Rittahler of Moorcroft, W.Y. in the head.
Campbell will be eligible for parole after 27-and-a-half years when he’ll be 44 years old.
